Help with Nicknames in Austnet
NickOp in Austnet is a service that allows you to reserve a nickname for yourself and prevent others from using it. It also allows you to access many other Austnet services. Upon connecting to any AustNet server, your nickname is verified with NickOP's databases and if you do not own it, you are given the option to authenticate yourself by password or your nickname will be changed by force. NickOP has speedy registration facilities and provides secure ownership enforcement. For detailed information check the Austnetwebsite

Choose Your Password

Your password should contain characters from at least 3 of the following 4 classes:

1. English Upper Case Letters: A, B, C, ...
2. English Lower Case Letters: a, b, c, ... z
3. Westernised Arabic Numerals: 0, 1, 2, ... 9
4. Non-alphanumeric ("special characters"): { } [ ] , . < > ; : '" ? / | \ ` ~ ! @ # % ^ & * ( ) _ - + =
Note: The special character "$" cannot be used.

At a minimum your password should be at least 6 characters long. For stronger security, choose longer passwords with characters from all four classes (above).

A helpful tip: Pick an easy to remember phrase so you won't forget your password
For example, Msi5YOld (My Son is 5 years old) OR IhliCf5#yN (I have lived in California for 5 years now)
